About three months ago, I launched a travel blog: Kiratiana Travels: Let a Black Girl Show you the World. I hadn’t maintained a blog since 2006, so travel blogging was new to me. I set off to discover other travel bloggers, and specifically, black travel bloggers.

Unfortunately, there was not one up to date list of all the black travel bloggers in the blogosphere.

This list took me a month and a half to compile because I got so caught up in the pictures and stories of the people below. They are people who have decided to move abroad and experience the world. They are people who use every little bit of vacation they have to visit a new destination. Read these blogs if you want to be inspired to move abroad, or travel the world!

If you are one of the blogs listed on this page, please do the following:

1) Add these blogs to your blogroll. Links matter in ranking!

2) Let’s actively start commenting on each other’s blogs. Believe it or not, commenting really inspires people to keep going at the blogging. I get really excited when someone comments on my blog.

3) Join the Travel Blog Exchange. This is an excellent resource for travel bloggers and I recently started a Black Travel Bloggers group. This group is not meant to be divisive but to make it easier to find for people. Check it out here:

4) If you want to follow these people en masse on Twitter, then follow this list I put together –

If you just love travel, please do the following:

1)   Use these blogs and people as a resource if you are planning a trip or planning to move abroad!

2)   Subscribe to their feeds and newsletters! We need your support to keep going!

3)   Comment on their blogs because this will keep them writing!!!

I have not vetted the blogs below for quality. This is simply a list that will help you discover what blogs are out there. If there ANY that I missed, please comment below and I will add them!

Check out the list under the cut!

Thanks for this message! Have you heard of the Nomadness Travel Tribe? It’s also a travel movement on Facebook. You should look it up!

Where are the black brothers that have chosen to live, work, marry and play abroad? if I didn’t know any better, I’d think that black males don’t travel. We do, because I’m one of them and while abroad, I’ve bumped into others. This is a good list but not cohesive and too many selfies and self-centered travel. There needs to be more gender diversity. Otherwise, good list. Good start!

  • Kristen @ PBUrbanistas

I’m looking forward to interviewing more black travelers to feature on my own travel blog! I cannot wait to dive into these.

If you are still updating this list at all, here’s mine:

Thank you for composing this list!
